Pendet Dance is from Indonesia not Malaysia

Malaysia claimed Indonesian culture "Pendet Dance", Bali (to be listed on their visit year ads). Previously, Malaysia had claimed "Angklung", "reog Ponorogo", "Batik", "Hombo Batu", and "Folaya Dance".

Pendet
is a traditional Balinese dance, in which offerings are made to purify the temple or theater as a prelude to ceremonies or other dances. Pendet is typically performed by young girls, carrying bowls of flower petals, handfuls of which are cast into the air at various times in the dance. Pendet can be thought of as a dance of greeting, to welcome the audience and invite spirits to enjoy a performance. (source from Wikipedia)

I think Indonesia Government must care about it. Malaysia need culture extenses, because cultures is one of the best tool to be used as international diplomation.
Malaysia know that they are lack of cultures, so they look their neighbor's culture then claim it as theirs. Malaysia uses Indonesian cultures for benefits, and Indonesian government don't care/concern about it.

Not only Indonesia government have to take care about it, but also the peoples.
My message for Indonesia, "Don't let other countries claim your culture as theirs".
In my opinion Indonesia should stop diplomatic link with Malaysia if they claim Indonesian culture as theirs.

I am from Indonesia and when I found out about this not long ago I was truly pissed!! As an Indonesian, I am proud of the multicultural society that I was born in and I take a lot of pride from the Balinese dance because it is the most beautiful dance that I have encountered and one that I really want to learn despite the fact that I'm not from Bali.

I know that Malaysia know that they are lacking in culture but THEY DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT TO CLAIM OTHER CULTURES AS THEIRS!! Have they no shame towards their actions?

To tell you the truth I think that its pointless to stop diplomatic link with Malaysia because either way they are still going to steal our culture to attract tourists.

Indonesia is the one that is truly Asia, NOT Malaysia.

I am from Indonesia too and proud of it.
I was vey pissed while i read it on local newspaper a few days ago.
I think Indonesia should stop diplomatic link with Malaysia because it's useless. There are many other countries which are better than Malaysia and they respect other country.

We here in Malaysia don’t know really, why are our brothers and sisters in Indonesia have sour feeling towards us, why suddenly? Jangan kerana nila setitik, rosak susu sebelanga or jangan marahkan nyamuk, kelambu dibakar. We are serumpun and being that we are of course share a lot of things, Saya faham apa kamu cakap … itu bahasa Indonesia kah? bahasa Malaysia kah? no problem because we are BROTHERS and SISTERS and don’t get carried away with small matters. As siblings we eat, sleep, solat, quarrel, laugh together … air dicincang tidak akan putus, don’t you think so? If I’m wrong, just give slap on my wrist, I’d say I’m sorry, let just forget it and get along.

@ Rez
Small matters???
Are you my siblings? No, you are not.
It's just about your government who I think the people inside it don't understand about law.
"Rasa Sayange", "Angklung", "reog Ponorogo", "Batik", etc, has been shown on your country's visit year ads.
INDIRECTLY your country has claimed them as their cultures in the ads. What will be next???
How shame, claim their neighbor's culture in the visit year ads.
Think about it.
If foreign tourists/visitors visited your country and when they asked that the want to see it (for eg; Pendet dance performance), but there is not.
HOW SHAME WILL IT BE?
Malaysia is not "Truly Asia".
Many others countries which is better than your country, but they never say their country as truly asia.

Indonesians are just plain stupid! They have nothing that Malaysians would want. Check your facts before you accuse people of stealing. The documentary was not produced by Malaysians and the Malaysian anthem was based on a french song not some stupid Indonesian song.

Those IDIOTnesians come to Malaysia to take Malaysian money, often even stealing and robbing. And when IDIOTnesia has trouble such as natural disasters, they willing take Malaysia's assistance. Now they conveniently forget and accuse Malaysia wrongly before they check their facts.
